Located in the
campus of the university of Texas at Austin darrell royal stadiumwas
earlier known as war memorial stadium. Since 1924 it has been the home of the
Longhorns football team.
About the
stadium
The stadium is dedicated
in the memory of 198520 Texans who were killed in action in world war 1. In
world war 2 many players from Texas university lost their life in the
battlefield fighting for their country. So, to honour those men and women a
small granite monument was unveiled and was dedicated to those who were fallen.
The stadium has
a huge seating capacity of more than 100,000 and is one of the largest
stadiums. The stadium is the ninth largest in the world and eight largest in
the United States.

opening in 1924, Texas Memorial Stadium has gone through many expansions
and renovation projects. The latest one being a $62 million renovation and
expansion project approved by the university of Texas.
